Hand Tooled Bone Inlay Floral Mirror in Black and White Detail

Produced mainly in the Indian state of Rajasthan, this range of furniture combines traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary styling, to create stunning feature pieces for Australian Homes.

Our Bone Inlay Furniture is available in Black and White, Pink & Bone Inlay as well as Mother of Pearl and this range has graced the pages of countless magazines, and features in many designer homes around Australia. The art bone inlay is specific to the Udaipur region of India, where this meticulous skill is handed down from generation to generation.

Three craftsmen are employed to make a piece of Bone Inlay furniture: the first hand-carves pieces of camel bone into delicate shapes; the second affixes those pieces onto a wooden furniture frame in intricate patterns, and; the third fills in around the bone with the coloured resin background. To create a typical piece of furniture, the process takes about 3 weeks.
