Floral Chainstitch Cushions originate from Kashmir. Every square millimetre of fabric is covered in a continuous wolleen chain stitch. These textiles are produced in a novel way, with the work shared around the community. The raw materials are sent out to homes throughout the region, where the residents undertake the elaborate hand-stitching, thereby earning a much needed income during the agricultural off-season.
